We had a wonderful time last night entertaining our good friends Matt & Patrick, who joined us at the Hamlet for dinner and cocktails. I cooked a simple meal, which wouldn’t have won any awards, but I don’t think I gave anyone food poisoning, so I’ll consider it a success. It was our first meal at our new kitchen table and our first company with our new furniture. I stayed up way too late and had one too many cosmos (Patrick’s an ex-bartender and makes killer cosmos) but I really enjoyed myself. Poor Jeffrey wasn’t doing so well and had a rough night, but was a real trooper and socialized the best he could.
Today we are having a few friends over for brunch to celebrate my friend Mark’s birthday. I was up early, so showered and shaved and shopped for brunch before the Sunday crowds hit and was back home enjoying my coffee in our new living room by 7:30AM. Jeffrey is feeling better today so I think he will have a better time than he did last night.
I am excited to be feeling good enough to have company and socialize again and want to enjoy it while it lasts!
Yes, carpe diem!!!
Btw: Isn’t it about time you considered re-growing your thatch on top, S/b? Not saying that I dislike the way you look (heaven forfend!), but don’t forget that the day WILL come when you wish you were able to.

My hair grows back a little when I get too lazy to shave and I imagine as I get older I’ll attend to the shaving less BUT, I assure you: I love bald men, I love being bald and when the time comes when I am bald naturally, I will be grateful I no longer have to shave to be bald. Sorry, hair loss is just not something I do or ever did care about.

S/b, relieved to read that you “love bald men”. I don’t think I’ll ever get all the way there, but you’ll have surely noticed the advanced ‘thinning’.
