Gone but not forgotten

Thanks to a sweet blogger buddy who checked in on me to be sure all was OK, I am now aware that I have not posted for 9 Days. ZOIKS! How did that happen?

I have been working from home full time for a couple of weeks. Our office building sustained severe water damage due to burst pipes from the recent cold snap, so we have not been able to enter the building all month. We are scheduled to return this Thursday, assuming the repairs are finished and the Union reps decide, after a walk through, that it’s safe to return. The shine of returning to the office has definitely worn off, so I have really enjoyed working from home full time again. Oh well…

This weekend, we traveled to Binghamton, NY to attend a fundraising gala for the Animal Adventure Park, my favorite local animal park, rescue, and preserve. I could share some of the bad points of the weekend, but I’d rather not be a Debbie Downer, so I’ll just say it was a bit of a disappointment with a few good moments. Mostly, it gave me an excuse to wear my new giraffe patterned vest and bow tie:

One of those high points was hanging out in our hotel room having cocktails, listening to music, and playing Skip-Bo:

None the less, it was nice to get out of our rut and get away for the weekend, and I am grateful we have the means to be able to do these little get aways, even if they don’t always pan out the way we hope.

Que Sera Sera.

  1. You’re looking pretty snazzy in that bowtie with your trophy husband.

I take it as given that when the Skip-Bo cards come out trouble is never far behind. Nonetheless I am sorry your weekend didn’t turn out as well as you had hoped. You should tell us more about this Adventure Animal Park (and I should deep-dive into your archives).
