Reminds me of that Simpsons episode when the teacher, Edna Krabappel, says to Principal Skinner something along the lines of “Oh, who are you kidding? We both know these kids have no future!” but she inadvertently says it right in front of the shocked class.
If we had known then, what we know now, we would have enjoyed the third grade a whole lot more. The TV news headline, weather may impact your morning commute, and my thought was “what, like it is going to snow in my bedroom in the morning, between my bed and my desk?”

It’s definitely a trap! They do it with high priced cars that get low gas mileage, and you get the bonus of getting stuck in traffic.
