With how horrible I continued to feel this morning, there was no way I was leaving the house today, so I called into work. (You know I’m sick when I don’t even struggle with whether or not to go to work.)
My fever has bounced between 99 and 102. It spiked to 103 at one point, but I applied a cold compact and got it down to 99. I feel absolutely awful. I’ve had rotating bouts of chills and sweats. I’ve slept most of the day.
I’ve missed so much time from work lately. It’s a good thing I can’t get fired.
This really sucks.
Oh dear. I’m so sorry you’re sick. I wish you all the wellness in the world.

I hope you’re feeling better. It sounds like you have the flu. Get as much rest as you can.

That is so sucky!!! Not to pry, but did you contact your PCP? There are some medications that can shorten the duration of the flu, but you have to act quickly. Here’s info from the CDC: What You Should Know About Flu Antiviral Drugs. Some providers will consider your symptoms and prescribe over the phone for you, but some are sticklers and want you to come in for a test. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
