It’s been raining non-stop here since yesterday morning, and it’s kind of starting to wear on me.
Each day I feel a smidgeon better. I wasn’t quite as wiped out from work yesterday (although still very tired by the time I got home) and my gout-flared footsies are finally returning to normal, with only a little sensitivity and soreness remaining, so I’m walking better. My guts seem to be returning to normal (for me) functions, too, so I’m starting to trust that the latest health crisis has finally, actually passed.
I did get more sleep last night, for several hours. Unfortunately, Jeffrey caught my insomnia and, after being woken up several times by his fanning about, I gave up at 3:00am and just got up and got ready for work.
Today I finally get my make-up Remicade infusion, so I’ll work 7-10 this morning, then head to my 10:30am appointment. That should help me feel better. I am giving my self permission to not return to work afterwords, in the hopes I can come home and get some more sleep this afternoon.
Apparently, yesterday was “Boss’s Day.” My 3 team leads (who report directly to me) surprised me with a card, signed with very flattering comments about my being a good boss, and enclosed a $50.00 AmEx gift card:
The work day was very hectic yesterday, so I didn’t notice it on my desk until late in the day, and did not get to open it until I got home. It really boosted my spirits, and I sent a thankful text to them all.
Now that I’ve built up a good assortment of bow ties, I’ve been wearing them to work every day, for the past few weeks, and I’m loving it. Here are my ties from yesterday and this morning:
It’s a fun alternative to the more traditional necktie, and I think it perks up my wardrobe a bit. (Although nobody sports the bow tie as well as Spo does!)
I’m relieved it’s Thursday already. I’m very much looking forward to the weekend and getting to be home for two days. I cherish my time off, and look forward to the day when every day is a day off.
That’s enough rambling for now.
Be well. Be kind. Be fair.
