I’m happy to report our NYE went as planned. The guys arrived safely, dinner was great, we all made it to midnight, toasted the New Year, and headed to bed. After breakfast, the guys hit the road, leaving in the same frigid temperatures they arrived in.
While We had plans to start taking down decorations today, after they left, we were both too exhausted and opted for a quiet, relaxing day of reading and watching some favorite movies and shows instead.
Not a horrible way to start the New Year.

We had tentative plans to go to Asheville and tour the Biltmore house. I stayed in bed until 9:30. It was too late and too cold to traipse up there. Evidently I was tired, because I then took a looooong nap in the afternoon. Slept great!
Glad you guys had a successful ringing in of the new year. May 2018 meet or exceed all our expectations. ❤

we took naps, had the traditional pork & sauerkraut meal, relaxed, listened to music. back to the salt mines tomorrow though. 😦

Consider you have until the 6th of January by some religious traditions going back to the Pagans to take down the decorations.
