A Reminder about “Happiness”

(Swiped from a Facebook post, shared by a friend, by someone I don’t know):

For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.” -Alfred D. Souza

Stop waiting until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until winter, until your song comes on, until you’ve had a drink…. there is no better time than right now to be happy. Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Good advice, indeed, especially when things seem dark.

Happiness is a byproduct, like heat given off by a well running machine. Live well and be content and this create happiness.

Great advice that we just need to be reminded of.

These are great words. My darkness has lifted. The idiots upstairs moved yesterday. I came home at about 9pm from my friend’s house, and it was odd that my apartment complex was so quiet.

I stayed up until 1am and got seven hours of nearly uninterrupted sleep. Yes!!!!

  5. What a great post! I absolutely love that quote that you got from Facebook. Good words to live by. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I am happy to be alive this beautiful morning!
