Sobered up

I’ve been feeling down about discovering, recently, in a very harsh way, that another friend has dissolved our friendship without warning or explanation. But it suddenly seems very unimportant to me.

A friend has lost his father. People have lost their homes in raging fires. A child had been arrested for bringing a clock he built to school. People who want to lead our country are trading barbs instead of economic plans. Another shooting has been reported in the neighborhood I live near and travel through almost every day.

My heart is heavy today with worry and remorse for those suffering from loss, concern for the wellbeing of our neighbors and ourselves, and fear of what these Commander-In-Chief wannabes will do if they get their hands on the Oval Office.

I am in desperate need of a silver lining but, this morning, all I can see are dark, stormy clouds.

Keep in mind it is the storm not you that’s bound to blow away.

I do my best not to worry, if I can… I go to YouTube and watch funny videos of doggies before bed (or zit popping, it is a fetish)… I go day by day hoping it will all get better, but if it doesn’t we have to truck along. I lean on my friends that will hold me when I need them and other times, I just lay down, relax and rub my doggies… The circle of life sucks and sometimes it hits all at one time… enjoy what you have and who you have, even if you can’t keep everyone in your life like you would want, sometimes we do just have to let go… I am learning this first hand in a hard way this year and trying to do what I can to show the ones who have passed how good I can be, and then rub it in the face of those alive who doubted me… smooches to y’all… take care, and hopefully sometime within the next year I will be up in your neck of the woods to say HI! and hug you… Hang in there!!

I found the story about the kid with the clock who was arrested. That makes me so angry!

I’m sorry you’ve lost a friend. That’s hard. Remember, though, that you have a double fist-full (at least) of good friends who love you dearly. Yes, some of us are not within shouting distance (or “come on over and watch movies or play Cards Against Humanity” distance) but we are friends nevertheless.

    And I miss you, too.

I wish I had words of wisdom to insert here. I, too, am worried about what’s to come. I’ve never seen so much pain and strife, usually with stupidity at the helm. We are in trouble, for sure.

    Sassy,
We all have down days. I just went through one, probably triggered by the death of our fellow blogger, Jay. Do not despair. There is so much good in this world. So much to look forward too. You only have to go outside and breath the fall air and watch those puffy cumulus clouds float by in the sky. Sure, there is more than enough evil in the world, evil that we feel sometimes will overwhelm us. But that evil is always balanced by the Good. And I see the Good today. And besides, your little friends (doggies) need you. (smile)
