Defaced

So I’m thinking of deleting my FB account. I’ve been systematically deleting all my on line profiles and accounts and FB has become something almost unrecognizable to me…no longer really about a way to keep in touch with friends, now it is just one big commercial for businesses, pages, gods and butchering of the English language.

I want to focus on my blogging. That was my original on-line presence and it is enough for me.

I guess I’m just growing more introverted in my old age.

Sigh….

Sean, it’s all there for you. Decide what makes the most sense for what you want to do. Have you tried unfriending all those you don’t want to stay in touch with and starring the people you most want to hear from? You have three times a many people on your list as I do. I’m not sure what I’d do with so many people on my list. I’d never be able to keep track of them all.

Facebook updates now result in ‘commercials’ for businesses you may have simply ‘liked’ in the past. Rather than delete your entire account, I recommend you just ‘unlike’ all those businesses and celebrities so your stream is really a way of keeping up with friends.

No FB account for me either.
Sean if you delete yours you will be in good company, if you keep it…that’s your choice and I’ll respect you for being you.
      HUGS!

Maybe you should just strip it down to what you need it for or want it to be. Just make it for family and your inner circle of friends and for keeping in touch concerning significant events.

  6. Oh, and you’re not growing more introverted. You’re just accepting it. 😉

  7. I’ve been pondering that a lot the last two weeks or so myself: I really want to nuke my account. I’ve grown weary of all the crap I see on FB. Of course, I could just delete all the people I see the crap from. And at the same time, I also have it for business reasons. Unless of course I create a business only account. Hmm….
