Making Time

I keep trying hard to make time to blog every day but it is just so difficult. It is not possible to blog from work given our current work environment, and I have so much to do when I get home that sitting down to type is almost unthinkable. Still, I made a commitment to blog more, so I’m going to, dammit! The dogs and hubby aren’t too thrilled I’m typing in bed, though.

“Ummm…Dadddyyyyyy…we’re waiiiitinnnng…..”

One of the many venues I’ve considered as a path out of my current dismal work situation has failed before it even got started. I went to an info seminar for Empire State College, tonight, but was saddened to learn it is more expensive than I expected and I just can’t afford to enroll and work on my degree at this time. I left the seminar dejected and frustrated that I’m too poor to get a degree. Oh well, I guess being formally educated is only for the elite and well to do…again.  So, a but bummed, I came home and joined my husband in some frenzy cleaning preparation for Thanksgiving. This will be the 4th year we have hosted a group of friends for Turkey Day at our humble abode. It is potluck, so I only have to cook the turkey and mix the drinks. I really look forward to this each year as it’s always a lot of fun and the way I always imagined holidays SHOULD be. Plus, more friends have started coming post dinner for cocktails, so it is evolving into an all night and evening party. Woohoo!

Anyhoo, we can’t do any cleaning tomorrow because we made an impromptu decision to go see “Wicked” for the third time,  at Proctors Theater in Schenectady. We’ll be going with two friends and we’re very excited. LOVE this show. SO, that left tonight and Wednesday night to clean, and Wednesday night is our last chance to snag an Atheistmas Tree before the official onslaught of the ugliness of the season of gluttony and greed. Besides, we want to have it in the house so we can put it up Friday since we both have the day off. That way, I don’t have to put on pants or leave the house on my day off. Yay for naked decorating!

So that’s what’s happening hereabouts.

OH….and a BIG thanks to Anne Marie over at From My Brain To My Mouth for hitting her local Michael’s Crafts store to try to find me my third stocking.  She wasn’t able to find one, but how sweet that she even tried! You rock, AM!

Night all.

(Oh, and about those pics I need for models for my next gallery show…ahem…gentlemen….don’t keep me waiting too long or I’ll have to come take them myself!)

I do accept as true with all the guidelines you’ve presented in your content. They’re fairly convincing and will definitely succeed. Still, a posts incredibly short for newbie. Could you please make sure to lengthen all of them a bit provided by subsequent time period? Thank you for a post.

  3. smooches! 🙂

I LOVE the doggie pix; I think you captured their thought spot on!

wish I could have you mix a cosmo for me and send it thru the internet! 😦

Your dogs seem to suffer from CDD or center of attention deficit disorder. And on the other hand, your blogger buddies are not much better. I don’t envy your task to keep us all satiated .

  5. What do you want to get a degree in?

And I’ll see about talking the Husbear into that picture for you…. although having you hold the camera for us would be way easier. 😉

I have a lot of interests: graphic design, illustration, IT, human resources/services, mass media, psychology, business admin, etc. Mostly wanted to complete my education and actually earn a degree (I have 2 plus years of college, but no degree.)

How about I just come visit and sketch you guys in person?

      • That I can understand. Not being in a “standard” job these days, are companies looking for degrees, or actual experience?

And you coming to visit would work also! We could take turns drawing (on) each other…. 😉

Honestly, in the time I’ve been looking, it doesn’t seem to matter what your degree is in…a Bachelors Degree is the new HS Diploma…without it, I appear to be out of the running 😦
