We spent the seeking heating the warnings about Sandy and, although we did not go into panic mode, we did take a few minor common sense precautions just in case of power outage: batteries, candles, water, non-perishable food, wood for the fireplace. We also have Transfer Electric, our neighborhood electrician’s number saved on our cell phone with plenty of battery.
However, we’ve been lucky. No power outage we were able to continue to send messages to each other. Weather so far has not been too disatrous just continuous rain and wind.
So, we sit here watching the new series “Arrow” by a roaring fire with the dogs in our laps while I play Words With Friends and check in on Facebook, keeping our eye on the news and out the window for any turns for the worse. I don’t feel silly about prepping – better to laugh at being prepared for nothing than to cry over not being prepared for anything.
Hope everyone else is staying safe, warm, dry and powered up.
