Treading Water

I am finding it difficult to find time to sit down and compose a decent post. As I have blogged so sparsely of late, I thought if I start writing something….anything…every day it might become a habit again and then, somehow I will find or make time to post more, longer and better entries. To be fair, work has changed drastically¬† and my workload has increased so I am working nose to grindstone from start to finish with little breathing room in between, these days. We have been busy house hunting at night so that takes up most of our time. In between, we are barely finding time to cook meals, clean house, do laundry, let alone socialize.

We have had a snowless season here in Upstate New York thus far. It has just started getting colder in the last couple days after an unseasonably warm October, November and December. It has rained the last two days, which is not fun when it’s already dark and cold out as it is. It makes going outside or being outside completely undesirable. Although I have developed a severe dislike for this time of year, it does seem to be passing fairly quickly (hello…it’s January 2012 in 4 days) and with all that’s going on in our life now, the first few months of 2012 should be both exciting and taxing as we (hopefully) settle into a new (and permanent) home, putting an end to our constant moving and nomadic life style. I just hope I survive the final move.

Today I return to work after a four-day weekend. I only have a two-day week, so it shouldn’t be TOO terrible, but both my husband and I have colds so neither of us is feeling particularly energetic or thrilled about heading back to work today. Still, one does what one must.

Have a good hump day. Or at least a good hump.

Don’t be concerned about not doing frequent blogs, S/b. As long as we know that you’re there and functioning by the occasional posting, then I, at least, am happy.
We’ve actually had the mildest Xmas days I’ve ever known – the mildest on record for several parts of our tiny country – and it looks like it’ll continue into the New Year. That suits me just fine. But sorry to read about your own discomfort…….as well as your own and your hubby’s pesky colds. One of the advantages of living a socially isolated life is that one doesn’t pick up cold and flu germs from others. I haven’t had a heavy cold for something like 12 years. (Na na na-NAA na!) – but it would have been nice to have had the occasional person to whom to talk to ‘in the flesh’.
Thank you for your wishes. I’ve actually got no one here to ‘hump’ – no, absolutely NOT the cats – but your meaning is a kind one. Best wishes, S/b.
