I hope that all of you had/have a super holiday and/or season, however, whatever, wherever and with whomever you celebrate. And if this is just another month of the year for you, then, by all means, please still accept my sincerest wish for peace, health, happiness, success, love, laughter, lust and anything that makes you feel happy, fulfilled or complete, now, in the new year and always.
We are not technically celebrating this year. No, we are not “anti-christmas” but, as an atheist, I am not a fan of the ramped up god-stuff and messages this season tends to bring about. Also, all those things this season is supposed to extol, promote and enhance, we try to embrace and share all year-long and don’t just relegate it to one month. Regardless, we have primarily christmas-addicted friends, so we are still semi-caught up in the fringes and frolic of it all. For better or for worse, this holiday is part of our culture and society and we do our best to enjoy the good parts and avoid the bad parts.
I do enjoy seeing/reading about all of my friends and blogger buddies enjoying themselves, reconnecting with their families and bristling with the giddiness this season often infuses people. I just hope when the nog is gone, the trees are down and the gifts are unwrapped and put away, you all remember and recognize you don’t need a national holiday, religious edict, or dedicated shopping season to let your inner child, generous nature or love of family and friends show. It’s how we all should try to live every moment of every day.
So embrace it, go with it and keep it going. As always, thank you for being part of my blogger family!
Peace, Love and Pride (and a little naughtiness to spice it up a bit)
