>Slothy Saturday

A perfect fall Saturday morning begins with some coffee and comic books on the sofa while Clyde cuddles in my lap. Pandora quietly plays old standards through Apple TV while the sun streams through the slats of the window blinds. The housemate is off to class and the hubby is asleep upstairs in bed. It would be perfect if the fireplace was on, but the landlord has yet to get it repaired (which really bums me out,) so I make do with a candle, a blanket and the warmth of Clyde and the thermostat.

The weekend lays before me like a blank slate. A myriad of possibilities, none of which involve anything related to Halloween, I’m afraid, as I’m not much of a fan of the holiday and am probably the equivalent of the Halloween Scrooge (sorry Spo!) I MIGHT consider a movie night tomorrow with some of my favorite movies that are in the “spirit” of the weekend (no pun intended): Little Shop of Horrors, Lost Boys, Fright Night, and Practical Magic. I don’t really do scary movies, so this is as close I get.

Otherwise, we’ll just enjoy the quiet downtime and be grateful to be alive, together, healthy and free and have a wonderful home and life to enjoy even if there’s nothing particular going on in it right now.

    >Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I wish mine were the same, but I work both my jobs this weekend – up at 8 this morning to be at work at 8:30 and then once this job is done at 5, I go immediately to the next and wait tables til about 11. Tomorrow I'm going to do makeup for Halloween but no real costume. Would prefer a movie and the intimate company of friends. Have a good one: and, hey! Lost Boys is scary. 🙂
