And he lives just 45 minutes away.
There was one brief mutual public sighting once when we were both exiting a Kathy Griffin concert at the Palace Theater in Albany a couple years back, but he was with someone and I was with a gang of friends and I wasn’t sure he’d recognize me off line, so we didn’t connect then either.
At one point, I asked Daniel if he’d mind if I did a sketch of a photo of him he had posted on line and he was totally fine with it. This is what came of that:
Well, after years of chatting and disconnecting and reconnecting on line, I finally had the luxury of meeting Daniel in person today. He invited me up to his place to see his Wonder Woman (and other toys) collection and hang out. It was so very cool to finally meet and get to geek out together. And I was surprised to discover he’s been a regular reader of my blog, too.
Daniel was incredibly sweet and, when I first walked in, commented at how much we looked alike. Although I don’t think I hold a candle to him, it was an incredibly flattering thing for him to say and it only endeared him to me more. Conversation flowed easily and, true to form, a chattered on and on, barely leaving him an opportunity to get a word in edgewise; however, he was a gracious host and made me feel very comfortable in his home. And, yes, he was even more amazingly stunning in person than he was in his pictures. This is a picture he took of our first meeting, so you can see for yourself:
I am excited to have finally met Daniel in person and I look forward to spending more time with him off line. Also, rumor has it there might be a special contribution to Undie Monday from Daniel, so stay tuned.
