As part of Albany’s week of Pride events, tonight was a wine tasting that three local gay bars participated in. We grabbed dinner after work, then met our friend Tony for a night of free wine, friendship and fun. You’ll be shocked to find out what my favorite wine of the night was:
Uncorking the Bitch…
We were hit with a pretty severe rainstorm last night and decided to uncork a bottle of bubbly Bitch, sit back and enjoy the show through our living room bay window. Unfortunately, the storm was short lived (20 minutes?). Although the rain stopped pouring outside, we did not stop pouring inside.

Well, New York finally realized it was January and got it’s act together so temps have dropped and they’re threatening snow. We have been lucky to have such an unseasonably warm winter thus far almost completely devoid of snow and any precipitation, so we can’t really complain that the cold and snow are coming 2 months into winter season. However, we’re New Yorkers and that’s what we do: complain about the cold in winter and the heat in summer.
We, of course, are hoping things stay relatively mild as we gear up for the great (and hopefully final) move into the new house next month. It would be nice not to have to navigate snow, sleet and ice with heavy boxes and furniture. On the plus side, we won’t be moving in 98 degree temps like we did last summer and we’ll get to use our fireplace right away – yay!
In the meantime, we’ll do our best to stay warm and dry and pass the cold, dark winter nights away wrapped in blankets, sipping wine and longing for a glimpse of sunshine and a touch of solar warmth.
