>Cookie Night

>

Well, we survived and the cookies came out OK. It was a LOT of work, but we had fun doing it (more the cocktails and the music than the actual baking) until we started getting REALLY tired. The last hour or so was just painful.
Tom and I discussing the plan

Mixing up some Peanut butter cookie batter

Tom preheating the oven

Me getting frustrated

Seriously, what is UP with my hand?

THAT’S what we needed…cosmos

The final product: 8 kinds of cookies, peanut brittle and peanut butter balls.
(We petered out before starting the Rice Krispie squares.)

My favorites (not baked, just assembled) reindeer cookies.

It was an experience I don’t look forward to repeating any time soon!
Too much work, too much time, and not enough cosmos :-)
BUT, Tom made it as fun as possible!

  1. >cripes, now I am hungry for cookies!spouse says you should have gotten drunk on cosmos BEFORE baking!wonderful results, boyz!(ps: I love the "don't feed the bears" sign in the kitchen)

  2. >Nik: Now that you mention it, I do think I was doing the air guitar during "Bohemian Rhapsody".Alan & Brent: I swiped the reindeer idea form a pic I saw somewhere on the interwebs. Just take Nutter Butters and stick the M&Ms and pretzels on with white (eyes) & red (nose)icing. The eyes in the pic I first saw were brown M&Ms but I forgot to get regular M&Ms; I only got holiday ones, hence the green eyes.Ur-Spo: Just keep taunting me. Some day, dot dot dotCubby: we were baking for about 6 hours – that was 5 hours too many in my book.

  3. >Pillsbury Cut and Bake cookie dough. How many times do I have to tell you this? Are you listening to me young man? Hey! Hey! Don't you walk away from me. And stop rolling your eyes! Sorry – I was channeling my mother.Your baked goods look awesome, even if they were made when you were drunk! LOL

  4. >I think the idea is to get liquored up BEFORE you begin making the cookies. Your cookies look beautiful, though. I will try making the reindeer ones tomorrow.
